For Martina and Mauro, the heart of the day was the little church of San Mamante, a place that has stood since the thirteenth century, with frescoed walls, worn stone floors and a wooden door that opens straight onto the meadows.
We kept the setting simple and let the building speak: bursts of colourful summer flowers at the entrance and along the aisle, soft blue ribbons on the pews, and a vintage white Beetle waiting outside to carry the bride.
The Day

The ceremony was intimate and full of emotion, followed by a shower of rice and petals at the church door. The celebration then moved outdoors to a long lunch in the garden, under white umbrellas with the green hills all around, a tiered display of desserts and plenty of time for family, laughter and dancing until late afternoon.
