Katie and Jamin wanted a wedding that felt like the mountains themselves: open sky, wild flowers and a view that would take their guests’ breath away the moment they stepped off the chairlift. Rifugio Pomedes, perched high above Cortina d’Ampezzo, gave them exactly that.
The wooden terrace became their ceremony space, framed by two floral arches of roses, delphiniums and meadow flowers that seemed to grow straight out of the landscape, with the Cortina valley and the peaks beyond stretching out behind them.
The Day
After the vows, the couple slipped away for a walk along the ridge while their guests gathered for an alpine aperitivo of local cheeses and cured meats. Inside the hut, tables dressed with wild flowers, candles and hand-lettered menus waited for dinner. As the sky turned blue, they cut the cake under the arches, lanterns glowing on the terrace, and the evening ended on the dance floor.
